Flocwell AI

Your plant's living logbook

Flocwell is a private AI that knows one plant: yours. You load in your manuals, permits, and logbook, and any operator can ask a plain question and get a straight answer, along with the document and page it came from. It is there on the night shift when there is nobody to ask. And when a 30-year operator retires, what they knew stays with the plant instead of walking out the door.

Raw water manganese is high. We feed permanganate ahead of the filters to oxidize it, but it isn't holding and Mn keeps slipping through. Any ideas?

First thing to rule out is iron. From your training guide, permanganate oxidizes iron first, and manganese only starts to oxidize once the iron demand is satisfied. If iron is still breaking through, your permanganate is getting used up before it reaches the Mn.

Work it in this order

  1. Check raw iron. If it shows downstream, demand is not being met, so you likely need more dose, not less.
  2. Confirm pH. Oxidation is pH dependent, so make sure the NaOH feed puts you in range before the oxidation tank.
  3. Check the permanganate tank. Your bulk tank was at 22% with a low level alarm on the 3rd, so give the pump a physical look for lost prime near empty.

What Flocwell does

You load your plant's real documents and photos. O&M manuals, SOPs, permits, spreadsheets, nameplates, gauges, drawings, and scanned pages. Flocwell reads text and images. Ask "what's the salt rejection spec on our RO elements?" and it answers from your own fact sheet, and it names the document and the page.

It only answers from sources you can trust. Your uploaded documents, the plant logbook, and procedure changes your admin has approved. It does not make up facts about your plant. If it does not know, it says so and asks, often for a photo of the nameplate or gauge it needs.

Every operator gets their own login. There are two roles. An admin, usually the ORC or superintendent, and operators. Each operator's conversations are private to them. The shared plant knowledge is the documents and the logbook, not everyone's chats.

It all runs from one simple box: ask a question or log what just happened. A troubleshooting question, a process-control question, a permit question, or a photo of what you are looking at out in the plant. Same box either way.

How operators use it on shift

Operators use Flocwell for the real work of running a plant, not just trivia. A few of the ways it gets used day to day:

Troubleshooting. A blown UF endcap, RO transfer pumps that quit, a caustic line leak, high manganese at the RO feed. Describe what you see and it works the problem with you, out of your own manuals.

Process control. Setting an RO recovery rate, dialing in a permanganate setpoint, adjusting a hypochlorite dose. It answers from your design specs, not a generic textbook.

Logging the shift. A chemical delivery received, a cartridge filter changed, a pump rotation done, a leak repaired. Log it once and it lands in the daily logbook.

Procedures. Shutting the plant down and bringing it back up, running an RO CIP, a well-swap testing protocol. It pulls the steps straight from your SOPs.

Permits and lab. Sample collection points, a total nitrogen testing procedure, a safety data sheet for a chemical. Quick answers on the compliance side.

Document lookup. Upload an O&M manual, a delivery sheet, or a drawing, and ask about it later. It reads them and points you to the page.

A living logbook

When something happens on your shift, tap "Add to logbook." A backwash, a reading, a delivery, a repair. Flocwell records it. At the end of the day it rolls everything up into one clean daily summary the whole crew can scroll back through.

That is what makes this a living logbook. Nothing important gets lost when the shift changes, and you can look back at any day and see exactly what was done and why.

A plant calendar

Flocwell keeps a plant calendar too. Deliveries, scheduled maintenance, testing due dates, and reminders all live in one place the whole crew can see. Ask what is coming up, or just tell it about something and it puts it on the calendar.

Review and approve changes

Procedures change. When an operator tells Flocwell that something changed, Flocwell does not just take it as fact. It flags the change for the admin to review. The admin approves it, and it becomes official, and Flocwell treats it as current practice from then on. Or the admin denies it, and it is scrubbed.

Nothing an operator says becomes plant fact until the admin approves it. The operator is told the decision either way. The person in charge stays in control of what the plant calls true.

Who it's for

Licensed operators and the utilities that run these plants. When a 30-year operator retires, all that plant knowledge walks out the door. Flocwell keeps what is written down. The documents, the logbook, and the procedures your admins have approved. It is there at 2 a.m. when a lone night-shift operator hits something they have never seen, and it helps new hires get up to speed without constantly interrupting the senior operator.

Your plant's data stays your plant's

Flocwell is walled to your facility. It only ever knows your plant. Your documents are never sold and never used to train anything outside your walls. The knowledge that builds up over time is your crew's, and it stays with your facility.
